Adeptus Mechanicus

The minor Forge World Hephaes, a dircet ally of Mars, started as an Explorator colony, but quickly grew beyond these limits, as the planet is ripe with ressources, mainly lead and iron. Today Hephaes is supplying weapons and armour for the Astra Militarum, with Cadia being their chief client. While the Imperial Fists are no clients of Hephaes, the local command is nevertheless on good terms with the local Mechanicus, and on more than one occasion both have assisted each other in times of need.

Recently Hephaes came under attack by Chaos forces originating from Gorpheus. The Adeptus Mechanicus is withdrawing most of their forces back to Hephaes, and have asked the Imperial Fists for assistance. Unbeknownst to the Tech Priest, the sector's orks have recently been made aware of the Forge World, and Warboss Skumsnaga Skarlug wants the planet for himself – the constant harassment by the sector's ork hordes will soon become much more purposeful. The growing Tyranid threat can't be ignored either; while Hive Fleet Leviathan has thus far ignored Hephaes, Magos Linval assumes that it won't be for long until the Hive Mind realizes the strategical importance of the Forge World.
